I'm always looking for excuses to take my camera out and shoot something creative. I work with both available light and portable lights and will often have an assistant with me.
When working with people I typically take three different approaches for compensation:A) Time-For Shoots. In these, the model signs a release allowing me to use the photographs as I see fit, in exchange I provide the model with digital or print media from the shoot for them to use as they see fit. We trade each others time for a product.
B) Hired Shoots. If I am hired and compensated for my time to do a shoot, I do not require the models to sign a release and instead provide digital or print media for the model to use as their discretion. There is no need to credit me, there are no watermarks and the photos are for the client and their use.
C) Paid Shoots. When I hire a model for a shoot, they must sign a release and the photos taken are for me to use at my discretion. Models may be provided with final copies, but they will be water marked and limited in what they may be used for.
